Welcome to Dr. Chadi Murr
The ideal candidates for this surgery are women above 18 years of age who are unsatisfied with the size of their cleavage or have dissimilarity in their breasts.
Read MoreWomen considering this procedure should know that breast augmentation does not affect their ability to give birth and breastfeed. However, they should be aware that future lactation and pregnancy will alter the size and quality of their mammary glands like in women with natural breasts.
We will discuss your needs and what results you expect from this surgery and then decide on the type and placement of your implant.
The breast augmentation surgery takes one to two hours and is usually performed under general anesthesia. According to the patient’s needs and my recommendations, the procedure is done using one of the implant types and placement methods:
There are two types of breast implants, both consisting of silicone shells but filled either with saline water or silicone gel. Both implants are reliable and safe with different advantages for each. I strongly recommend the silicon-filled implants because they are softer and feel more natural than the saline ones.
According to the patient’s anatomy and aspires, the incisions are made in the armpit, the breast’s natural crease or around the nipple. In all three cases, the incisions are hidden in a way to minimize scar visibility.
Once the incision is made, the implant is inserted into a pocket created to this purpose.
The implant is placed either beneath the muscle or beneath the breast. The choice of the placement type is recommended according to the characteristics of the patient’s breast.
After inserting the implants in a way to achieve a natural look, the incisions will be closed with stitches, then the chest taped and wrapped with bandages.
Swelling and bruising are natural signs of recovery. Most patients will feel some pain and soreness for few days, especially patients with a sub-muscular implant. The discomfort lasts one or two days.
A week after the surgery, the stitches will be removed and the bandages replaced with a surgical bra. Patients can resume their normal activities within one week, as bruising and swelling begin to disappear.
